I think most AI corp tech bros do want to control information, they just aren’t high enough on Ket to say it out loud.

When video streaming first appeared on the internet, I basically stopped watching cable. I tolerate 0 ads and abuse video and streaming services until it’s impossible to do so and then I just won’t use those services anymore. It’s not sustainable to let me watch, acknowledged. I don’t care.

They also got rid of video ratings, porn really is corporate!

I use adblockers, but I’m confused how this would hurt google if people using adblockers stopped using youtube.

I just use Stremio on everything now with the usual plugins and a debrid service sub. I could do it old school on mobile, but navigating Android is baseline a tedious slog even while knowing what I’m doing.

They target only some % of randomly selected users to spread confusion online, and I would guess their hope is to frustrate people into disabling ad blockers on Youtube after reading a bunch of misinformation and placebo bad advice when looking for tech support.
